Glutathione Is a Celebrity Skincare Secret!

Celebrities like Halle Berry and Vanessa Williams are both in their 50s, and
known to have some of the most perfect complexions around. That doesn’t
mean it was always so. As a matter of fact, nobody has perfect, uniformly-
hued complexion. The advantage for celebrities is that they know how to
treat it.
Hyperpigmentation
Melanin is part of the body’s natural defense against the harmful rays of the
sun, and the ability to produce it is an evolutionary advantage. Sometimes
though, the production of melanin is triggered by means other than sunlight.
This can lead to a complexion that is uneven, and sometimes “blotchy.” The
term used to describe the overproduction of melanin in a certain area of
your skin is hyperpigmentation.
What Else Causes Hyperpigmentation?
Dry skin is a major culprit in the development of hyperpigmentation. Dry
skin means less natural oil, and therefore moisture. Without moisture your
skin is far more prone to cracking and damage. Damaged skin tends to have
a darker appearance than healthy, undamaged skin.
Another common condition responsible for an uneven skin tone is Melasma.
It’s usually caused by hormonal changes during pregnancy, or as the result
of birth control use, but it affects both men and women. Melasma typically
results in brown, tan, or grayish patches on your forehead and around your
nose, but they’ve been known to appear on the arms and legs, too.
How to Treat your Uneven Skin Tone
Begin treating your uneven skin tone by identifying the type of skin you
have. If it’s dry, start moisturizing, and if it’s oily, you need to bring it back
to normal. Of course, if you have combination skin, you’re going to have to
do all of the above.
Once you’ve figured that out, cleanse and moisturize every day (yes,
moisturize for oily skin, too) and use a product specifically designed to even
out your skin tone.
